Brazilian vs European Portuguese #1

You know how in the UK a “rubber” means “the school supply you use to erase pencil marks with” while in Canada/the US it means “a condom”?


Well, in Brazil durex means “scotch tape.”


In Portugal it means “condom.”

    Can I just say I love your translations (especially how you add implied words in brackets) and how you add random facts about Portuguese in there?

    I'm just beginning to learn Brazilian Portuguese and your blog is so helpful--I haven't even seen most of it yet, but I admire your dedication so much! It already looks like you've been doing it for a long time, and every day so far, to boot. It definitely deserves more views.
